He married Lydia E. Rugg march 4, 1888 in Hawley, MN. With his bride he came to Park Rapids settling on a homestead 3 miles northeast of Park Rapids. His wife died a year later. He worked in the logging camps, the sawmill at Akeley, worked in California a while and returned to Park Rapids.
He died when his house burned.
