Norman Lee Hebert, Sr.

Jennings: Norman was born in Jennings, LA on November 17, 1941 to Theophille Hebert and Attie Bergeaux. He was called from this life on February 4, 2020. Norman worked in the oilfield as a Mud Engineer. In his free time, he loved going to his camp, cook & eat with family and friends, go to the Casino, and watch football, especially the New Orleans Saints. Norman greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a kind and loving man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Norman is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Melba Hebert of Evangeline, LA; his three sons, Norman “Skeeter” Hebert, Jr. (Jennifer) of Evangeline, LA, David Hebert (Dawn) of Evangeline, LA, Daniel Hebert (Monika) of Tee Mamou, LA; his two daughters, Stacy Hebert of Evangeline, LA, Monica “Monkey” Benoit (Karl) of Evangeline, LA; his nine grandchildren, Brittany, Chaz, Gabrielle, Cody, Alex, Kinsley, Kaden, Hunter & Hayden; his brother, Neil “Neil-O” Hebert (Sandra) of Evangeline, LA.

Norman is now rejoicing with those who preceded in death by his parents, Theophille and Attie Hebert; two granddaughters, Hanna & Hailey Hebert; four brothers, Ricky, Roland, Arlene, &Tommy Hebert; one sister, Joan Andrepont.

Funeral services for Norman Lee Hebert, Sr., 78 of Evangeline, LA will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings, LA on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Brother Gary DarDar officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home beginning on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 6:00 PM. The family request that visitation resume on Friday, February 7th at 9:00 AM and continue until the time of his funeral service. Norman will be laid to rest following his funeral services in Tee Mamou Cemetery with Full Military Rites. Those chosen to carry Norman to his final resting place will be Mark Britt, Mike Hatcher, Alex Benoit, Cody Hebert, Brandon Thibodeaux, and Chaz Manning. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Hebert, Hayden Hebert, and Kaden Benoit.
