Donald A. Heien, 65, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Monday, February 14, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert J. Schimmel officiating. Burial will be in The Assumption Cemetery, Merrill, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home. Mr. Heien was born April 2, 1934, in Merrill, the son of John M. and Virginia M. (Brown) Heien. He married Charlotte J. Delutri on Sept. 27, 1952, in Merrill. They moved from Le Mars, Iowa to Sioux City in 1962. He worked for IBP Inc. for 17 years and most recently with Ultra Touch Car Wash. She died Sept. 17, 1991, in Sioux City. He belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons and their wives, Steve and Gay of Fort Collins, Colo., Terry and Denise of Indianapolis and Mike and Kim of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Deb and Karey Windle of Sioux City; three brothers, John and his wife, Roberta, Robert and James and his wife, Pat, all of Sioux City; two sisters, Joretta Blackmore of Lennox, S. D. and Sheryl and her husband, Paul Jebsen of Hinton, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stillborn son and his parents. Pallbearers will be Robert Jr. and Robert John Heien, Corey Jebsen, Chris Ommen, Rick and Monte Delutri, Nathan Sabel and Wesley Windle.
