Thomas Martin Green was born on October 12, 1875 in Macon County, Tennessee, the son of John Sampson Green (1843–1914) and Perthina Jane "Janie" (Shrum) Green (1849–1924).

He had lived in Kentucky but moved back to Tennessee about 1945 and resided in Madison, Davidson County. He was married about 1909 to Millie Jane Lee (ca 1899– ), and they were later divorced.

A member of Missionary Baptist Church and a farmer living on Elmore Street Thomas was 80 years old when he died at home of a heart attack on April 21, 1956.

Survivors included his daughter Mrs Ethel B England in Glasgow, Kentucky, son Corinthans Albert "C A" Green of Madison, brother James Green at Lafayette, Tennessee, sisters Mrs Alice Andrews in Haysville, Tennessee and Mrs Mandy Walder of Franklin, Kentucky, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral Services were held on April 22nd at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, and burial was in Luton's Chapel in Goodlettsville, Davidson County.
