James Elwood Adcock, age 50, died Saturday, March 28, 1992 in Alleghany Regional Hospital. He was born in Albermarle County, Virginia on June 27, 1941, the son of George and Myrtle Adcock.

He was an employee of Westvaco in Covington on the Number 5 Paper Machine. He was a member of the Glen Wilton United Methodist Church. He was a veteran having served in the U. S. Army.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Betty McCoy Adcock, Glen Wilton; a daughter, Michelle Adcock, Glen Wilton; one sister, Marcia Adcock Scruggs, Yorktown; one brother, Lawrence Melvin Adcock, Eagle Rock; and a number of nieces and nephews and a number of great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 1992, at Nicely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert McRae officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Bottom Cemetery, Glen Wilton. The family will receive friends at Nicely Funeral Home, Sunday evening from 7:00 until 8:00. Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of the arrangements.
