William Bruce Bumgardner, age 80, of 324 Yates Ave., Grafton, passed away April 22, 1987 at his home. He was born at Salem on April 19, 1907, a son of the late W.C. and Bernice Gabbert Bumgardner.

He is survived by his wife, Nina Ruth Wallace Bumgardner. They were married Feb. 17, 1927 and observed their 60th Wedding Anniversary this year. He is also survived by two daughters, Ruth Marie Beall of Grafton, WV, and Shirley Ann Meade of Woodbridge, Virginia; seven grandchildren, William R. Beall, Wayne Beall, Jeffrey A. Beall, all of Grafton, WV, and Michael Armstrong, Tamasa Armstrong, Sabrina Armstrong, all of Woodbridge, VA, and Stephen Armstrong of Philadelphia, PA; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Beall of Morgantown, WV, and Estell Armstrong of Woodbridge, VA.

He was preceded in death by one son, William Bruce Bumgardner, Jr.; and Estelle Armstrong of Woodbridge, VA.

Mr. Bumgardner was retired Manager of Siehler's Furniture Store in Grafton, with 40 years of service. He was a partner in the B&B Paint Store in Grafton for 16 years. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, United Methodist; an active member and Past President of the Grafton Lions Club; and a member of the North Central Good Sam Trailer Club.

Friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, Bartlett Chapel, Grafton, on Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be Sunday 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. David E. Erenrich officiating. Interment will be in Woodsdale Memorial Park, Davis Funeral Home.
