Frances D. Clapper, 85 of Holden, Missouri passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Frances was born May 30, 1934 in Cass County near Harrisonville, daughter of Ernest Wray Burden and Essie Mae (Zumalt) Burden. She attended school in La Tour, where she really took an interest in playing basketball. She was united in marriage to Jerry D. Clapper on July 30, 1950 at Bentonville, Arkansas. The couple lived in Harrisonville, East Lynn, Garden City and north of Kingsville prior to moving to Holden in early 1960s. Frances was a member of First Baptist Church in Holden and an active member of Union Chapel of 4-H. She also enjoyed fishing, having caught a contest winning Crappie at Gravois Mills years ago.

Survivors include her daughter: Linda McMillen (Jim) of Holden, MO; four grandchildren: Joel McMillen of Olathe, KS; Jeff McMillen of Oregon; Morgan Perfetto of Knoxville, TN; Casey Purfetto of Knoxville, TN and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Sherry Perfetto and two brothers: Ernest Keith Burden and Allan Wray Burden.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12th at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Pastor Roger Morris of New Hope Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Holden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, one hour prior to service, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association or the Holden Cemetery Association in care of the funeral home.
