Betty Jane Parker
April 5, 1931 - January 4, 2022

Betty Jane Parker, daughter of the late John Joseph Dunning and Millie Marie Elledge Dunning, was born on April 5, 1931, in Advance, Missouri, and departed this life on January 4, 2022, at her residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 90 years.

Mrs. Parker was a homemaker and had also worked for the International Shoe Factory and Elder Manufacturing. For over 50 years, Betty was a member of the Risen Church, formerly Second General Baptist Church, in Dexter, Missouri. Betty was known as "Granny" to most. She enjoyed cooking and hosting dinners for her family.

On May 8, 1948, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Hershel Parker. Mr. Parker preceded her in death on November 24, 1986.

She is survived by her son, Harold Parker and wife Brenda of Dexter, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Brian Pyle and spouse Tara Hill, Joe Pyle and wife Leslie, David Parker and wife Jami, and Amy Parker; by eight great-grandchildren, Braden Bollinger, Kassidey Mitchell and husband Drake, Hannah Bollinger, Katelyn Parker, Emily Pyle, Katie Pyle, Kilie Pyle, and Lucy Pyle; by her great-great grandson, Duke Mitchell; by several nieces and nephews; and by one special person, Mark McMillion.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lois Parker; by her granddaughter, Michelle Bollinger; by two brothers, Arthur Dunning and Monroe Dunning; and by one sister, Gladys Farmer.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Roth officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
