PLUMSTED--L. H. Nelms, 66, of Cream Ridge, died Friday Dec. 15, at his home. Born in Georgia, Mr. Helms resided in Cream Ridge for 30 years. He was an army veteran of the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War and retired in 1977 after 20 years of service. More recently, he owned the L. H. Nelms Termite and Pest Control Service in Cream Ridge. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 6590 in Wrightstown. Son of the late Lewis E. and Novella Massey Nelms, husband of the late Virginia F. Nelms, he is survived by three children, Debra Copeland, Cathy Rowley and Larry Hank Nelms all of Georgia; two step children, William H. Tantum of New Egypt and Sharon A. Hurley of Lakehurst; two brothers, James Nelms of Georgia and Horace Nelms of Kentucky; a sister, Pearlie Nelms of Georgia; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral was held at Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main St., New Egypt, with the Rev. Paul Amey officiating. Burial was in Emley's Hill Cemetery, Cream Ridge. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, N.J. 08053.
