MUNCIE--Cora Marie (Conway) Walker, 78, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Cora was born April 9, 1932 in Ironton, Ohio to Charles H. and Minnie "Buck" Conway. Cora resided in Muncie most of her life. She died spend the past 17 years at North Webster, IN, as well as in Muncie. She was an avid Colts, I.U., and Dale Earnhart, Jr. fan. She loved quilting and fishing.
Cora attended Muncie & Selma Schools. She worked at Ball Brothers in the 1950's and for Muncie Community Schools cafeteria's in the 1970's.
Cora is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald H. Walker. Also surviving are four daughters and five sons, Donald E. Butterfield (wife-Stephanie), Judy L. Green, Ronald H. Butterfield (wife-Donna), Connie J. Bowlin (husband-Jerry), JoAnne Whitenack (husband-Steve), Charles R. Walker (wife-Beth), Margaret A. Adams (husband-Mark), Robert D. Walker, and David L. Walker (wife-Kay). Cora is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Cora was preceded in death by her son, Jerry L. Butterfield; her great grandson, Jacob O. Thompson; five sisters, Hilda Lykins, Dorothy JOnes, Margaret Sibery, Pauline Greer and Elizabeth Hickey; and three brothers, Charles Conway, Alfred Conway and Chuck Conway.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Parson Mortuary with Danny Lewis officiating. and Jerry Bowlin speaking. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday or an hour prior to the services Monday at the mortuary.
