"Killed by Bull - Barron, Wis., June 3 — Knuth Aas, an aged resident of Rice Lake, met a horrible death by being gored by an angry bull. He was in the act of driving the animal from one field to another as he had done numerous times before, and carried a small stick with which he struck the animal lightly on the nose. The bull charged and knocking him to the ground, repeatedly butted him with his head and stumped horns and trampled him. Two men, working in a nearby field came to his assistance, but had nothing with which to drive the enraged animal away. They called another neighbor, who came with his rifle and killed the bull. Medical assistance was summoned, but Mr. Aas died before the doctor arrived." (June 3, 1909, The Duluth Evening Herald, Minnesota)
