(Muscatine Daily News Tribune - Muscatine, Iowa - April 30, 1897)
Aledo, Ill., April 26. - Mrs. Thomas Bailey passed to her eternal rest on Friday, April 23, 1897. She had been sick but a few days with trouble of rather a complicated nature and suffered untold agonies. She was an industrious hard working woman but her life of toil was not appreciated by those to whom she expected sympathy from, so that apparently, life seemed a burden to her. There is something peculiar as to her death that may be better known in the future and not agitated now. Funeral from the M. E. church, Rev. A. M. Stocking in charge and interment in Aledo cemetery.
