Mrs. Lucie Johnsen (nee Avernach), of 58 W. 5th St. Died Jan 23, 1968 in Bayonne Hospital after a short illness. She was 87.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Bayonne and was a lifelong resident. She was predeceased by her husband Hans Johnsen, who was a veteran of the Spanish American War and World War I. He was the recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor. She was also predeceased by a son, Bernardo Winslow Johnsen.
Surviving are a son, Avernach Worth Bagley Johnsen, a grandson Bernardo Winslow Johnsen II and a great-grand-child. The funeral was held at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Browne Funeral Home, 100 Broadwway. Services were at 10 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. John R. Green officiating. Burial was in Bay View Cemetery, Jersey City.
