Patricia Ann Abbey
Albemarle, North Carolina
September 24, 1944 - October 27, 2020

A mother holds her sons hand for a little while, but their hearts forever. Our hearts were broken when Patricia Abbey, 76, of New London, NC died on October 27, 2020. Mrs. Abbey was born September 24, 1944 in Waverly, NY, the younger daughter of the late Gladys Patterson and the late John Gumoski.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She grew up in the Valley and continued to live in the valley area and Horseheads, NY for many years. After retiring from Corning Glassworks, Inc., she and Keith became snowbirds, splitting their time between Florida and Pennsylvania until they relocated to North Carolina in 2012. She had a powerful love for animals, particularly her horse, Starfire, growing up; and she loved all things Elvis. Being around horses and her family always made her smile. She also enjoyed cruises and gambling.
