Laura D. Abraham was the daughter of Joseph Hugh and Rachel D. (Hobson) Quinn. She married Solomon "Sol" S. Carpenter on 8 Feb 1894 in Morgan County, Indiana. Laura and Sol were the parents of six known children: Floyd, Faydeane, Merle and Earl (twin sons who perished shortly after birth), and Lester and Chester (twin sons who perished due to premature birth).
When her older sister, Rebecca "Jennie" (Quinn) Abraham took sick (which occurred after the death of Laura's husband, Sol), Laura moved into Jennie's home and provided nursing care. Eventually Jennie Rebecca passed from this life, leaving behind her widower husband, J. Harvey Abraham. Laura and J. Harvey apparently found solace and comfort in one another, which subsequently led to their own marital union. Laura and J. Harvey were married until his passing in 1954. They had relocated from Kansas to Florida upon J. Harvey's retirement.
