Next they had Stella born in 1891, then William Hampton born 1893, Cappie was born in 1895 and Clara in 1898.

In 1901 they had Blanche, Alma in 1903, Patton was born in 1905 and Tillman, the last son, was born in Tennessee in 1909.
Becky, as she was called, started her schooling at age three at a one room school house called Clover Lick, the current site of University of Kentucky Community College.
The family lived on a farm and everyone had chores to do.
They had outings as a family such as gathering chestnuts after the first killing frost, singing songs around the fire, reading books her Dad had bought and the Louisville Courier Journal, going to the country store to buy goods and to pick a piece of candy from the glass jar.
Becky was born in the Appalachia Mountains, a little town named Poor Fork, Ky. was where she spent her first five years.
The books she would later write, “Happy Little Family”, “Up and Down the River”, “Schoolhouse In the Woods”, “Schoolroom in the Parlor”, are remembrances from her childhood in Kentucky.
