Jacob Lewis Snyder, 77, the last of a family of six children, died yesterday at the home of his son, Isaac Snyder, on the Harding Highway, east of the city. It was the same home in which he was born to Jacob and Mary Snyder, March 5, 1852. Infirmities of age and complications caused his death.
Mr. Snyder was known in a large circle of friends. Until six months ago he had spent 30 years at 119 Jefferson Street. His wife, Sarah E Merritt Snyder, to who he was married March 28, 1878, died three years ago. Six months ago he went to live with his son.
Surviving with the son at whose home he died, are the following children: Mrs. Ella Clendenen, 129 Pennsylvania Ave, and Mrs. Hazel Paul, at 119 Jefferson Ave. Mary, Gertrude, Thomas and Dorothy Snyder and Grace and Charles Clendenen, are his grandchildren.
Mr. Snyder was a member of the Likens Chapel Church.
