Margaret Jane Stine, 92, formerly of Mount Carmel, Pa., died at Citizen's Nursing Home, Frederick, where she had been a guest since October 2001. Before moving to Maryland, she was also a resident of Vintage Knolls Assisted Living in Danville, Pa. She was born in Mount Carmel, the daughter of the late Richard Charles and Martha Nichols Yarnell Stine. Miss Stine graduated from Mount Carmel High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She also graduated from Kutztown College. She taught elementary school in the Mount Carmel School District and later taught first grade at the Drumheller Elementary School in the Shikellamy School District, from where she retired. Surviving are a niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward C. "Ned" Stine Sr., on Sept. 13, 2001.
