Daughter of Sidney and Fannie (Dean) Mansfield. Eva married Thomas M. Jean January 13, 1876.

There is a stone in Nichols Cemetery for Eva (has Jean on it), but she is buried in Conesville Cemetery.

DEATH CLAIMS NICHOLS WOMAN
Nichols – Mrs. Eva Jean , aged 74 years, died this morning at the home of her nephew, Allie Quimby, near this city, after a two week’s illness of pneumonia. Funeral Services will be held at the Christian church, conducted by the Rev. E. L. Nickle, with burial in the Conesville Cemetery.

Eva Mansfield was born in Huntsville, Conn., June 22, 1858, and came to Iowa the following year with her parents, and had been a resident of Pike township since that time. In 1876 she was married to Thomas Jean, who preceded her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Quimby are the only immediate relatives. Mrs. Jean was a member of the Christian church and of the Rebekah lodge.
