Betty Louise Buchanan was born to Melvin Dale Buchanan and Sarah Louise"Sadie" (Litherland) Buchanan. She was one of nine children born to that union. Betty grew up in the Adams Corner area in northern Wabash County, Illinois. Her family home was just north of the church on the next hill. She was a member of the Adams Corner United Methodist Church, and Betty sang in the choir and she had a beautiful voice. Betty married Marshall Brown. There were no children born to this union. They later divorced.
Betty's survivors include three brothers and four sisters: Paul Levi Buchanan of Edmonds, WA; Joseph Robert Buchanan of Grove City, OH; David Allen Buchanan of Allendale, IL; Mrs. Lois Joy Collins of Allendale, IL; Mrs. Opal Eileen Nester of Chesterfield, MO; Mrs. Patsy (Pat) Jean Hunt of Cassville, MO; Mrs. Dorothy Ann Holcomb of Pace, FL.
Funeral services and visitation were at the Ingram Funeral Home in Allendale, IL with burial at the Adams Corner Cemetery.
