Mildred Reamy Hynson Bowen, 93, of Montross, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. She was the daughter of Jeter and Zelma Balderson Reamy. She was the widow of Herbert Warren Hynson, Sr. and Joseph Edward Bowen. Mildred is survived by her beloved son, Herbert Hynson, Jr.; two devoted grandsons, Warren Christopher Hynson and Gary Michael Hynson (Jennifer); brother, Bobby Neal Reamy (Brenda); six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She worked 28 years for Levi Strauss and Company as the Payroll Supervisor. After her retirement, she managed “Granny’s Attic” shop for 10 years and travelled extensively, touring the entire United States as well as several countries, namely Australia and Canada. Mildred became involved in genealogy and met many new and interesting people. She discovered she was the 9th generation of Jacque (Jacob) Remy, a French Hugenot who came to this country in 1656 and settled in Westmoreland County, less than 10 miles from where she lived. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Welch Funeral Home-Montross Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Ephesus Christian Church with interment following in the church cemetery.
