MAMIE M. CARR
Mrs. Carr, 68, of Valley View
Nursing Home, formerly of Taylor
Hotel, died at 3 p.m. Saturday,
May 8, 1993, at Mercy Hospital,
following an extended illness.
Known as Melvie, she was born
Aug. 18, 1924, in Altoona, the
daughter of Benjamin and Lillian
(Jones) Brown.
Surviving are two daughters:
Rosetta and Loretta of Altoona;
five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Also surviving are two brothers
and a sister: Benjamin of Philadelphia,
Nathaniel of Baltimore, Md,
and Julia H. Smith of Altoona.
Mrs. Carr was a member of
Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Friends will be received from 6
to 9 p.m. Monday at Good's Funeral
Parlor, Altoona.
CARR -- Services for Mamie M.

be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Mount Zion Baptist Church by the
Rev. Charles Clark. Interment at
Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends will
be received, from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday
at Good's Funeral Parlor, ALTOONA
