Mary Evelyn Hardin Rigsby, 90, Johnson City passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 in Franklin Woods Community Hospital. She was a native of Elizabethton and was the daughter of the late Joseph “Hook” Hardin and Ettie Belle Miller Hardin. Mrs. Rigsby was a Baptist by faith and had worked for Hammond Organ and Mayes Brothers. She enjoyed yard sales, visiting God’s Corner, gardening, especially raising and eating tomatoes and she loved cats. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Clyde Rigsby in 1998; also a brother, Carroll B. Hardin. Survivors include her three daughters, Linda English and husband, John of Johnson City, Janie Chase of Johnson City and Judy Pippin and husband, Tom of Smyrna, Tennessee; three step-daughters, Lola Harmon, Rose Turbyfield and Joy McQueen; a granddaughter, Heather Rigsby and Chris Keller of Johnson City; great-grandchildren, Aspen Oliver, Isaiah Oliver and Riley Cobin; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
