Dalford Acton, 87, of Van Buren formerly of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Sparks Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 10, 1927 in Scotland, Arkansas, to Curtis Clay and Amanda Bost Acton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Mae Acton; his parents; a daughter, Sharon Spears; a son, John Collins; two grandsons, Todd Hudson and James Michael Collins; and seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Mary Acton and Connie Horton of Van Buren and Kathy and Earl Money of Dover; two sisters, Juanita Pierce of Edmond, Oklahoma and Helen Flanery of Oologah, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, John Hudson of Russellville, Boyce Freeman of London, Jason Collins of Russellville, Zachery Bressman of Van Buren and Skyler Horton of Van Buren; and all of his great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Steve Harrelson. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Randy Eubanks, Mark Eubanks, John Hudson, Boyce Freeman, Jason Collins and Zachery Bressman.
