BENNETT KEITH Y. a 50 year resident of Hayward passed away Monday, September 3, 2001, age 75. After graduating from Acalanes High School in Lafayette, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He became a Police Officer with the City of Hayward in 1952, retiring as a Police Captain in 1980. He attended the F.B.I. Academy at Quantico, Virginia. He had been a member of the faculty at Chabot Junior College in Hayward teaching Police Science. He was active in the 1960's with scouting, a Scoutmaster of Troop #825 in Hayward and enjoyed fishing, hiking and travel. He was a licensed F.C.C. Amateur radio operator and a member of "R.A.C.E.S." Emergency Communications Network. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Norma J. Bennett of Hayward. Beloved father of the late Bradly Bennett. Loving grandfather of the late Mario Bennett, Micheal Bennett and his wife Jacque and Susanna Bennett. Devoted great-grandfather of Charlene, Brandy, Andrew, Devyn and Jordyn. Private services have been held. Donations are preferred to the American Cancer Society, East Bay Region 1700 Webster St. Oakland, CA 94612 or Guide Dogs for the Blind, P.O.
