Leola Alley, 81 year old former Mooreland resident, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Mooreland Cemetery with Reverend Shannon Davis. Burial will follow under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Leola Mae (Clayton) Alley was born on October 2, 1938 in Quinlan, Oklahoma to Charles and Lelia Louise (Newman) Clayton. Leola attended her first year of school at Richmond, Oklahoma. Grades two through twelfth she attended Mooreland Grade School and Mooreland High School. Leola graduated from Mooreland High School in 1956. On December 22, 1956, she was united in marriage to Norman C. Alley. They had three sons: Randy Lee, Ricky Lynn, and Richard Claire. In 1965, Richard was killed in an auto accident at the age of three in Amarillo, Texas.

She was an Air Force wife for 22 years and they traveled to many places in the states and overseas. Upon her husbands retirement from the United States Air Force, they began a new career in New Orleans where Norman worked for General Electric as a Field Engineer. Once again this was a job where they traveled. They went to Paris France, and Rome, Florence, Italy.

She attended St. Johns United Methodist Church in Richmond, Texas. Leola also worked for the school district as a Sign Language interpreter.

Their son Randy was born in Salina, Kansas, Ricky was born at Ramey Air Force Base Puerto Rico and Richard at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lelia Clayton.

Leola is survived by her sons: Randy Alley and wife Connie of Shreveport, Louisiana, Ricky Alley and wife Teresita of Porter, Texas; five grandchildren: Lee, Richard, Christina, Branden, and Kelsey; two great-grandchildren: Trinity and Amelia Alley; sister, Verla Grayson; two brothers, John Clayton and wife Gladys, J.C. Clayton and wife Totsie; other relatives and many friends.

Leola spent her life enjoying and loving her family and was always there for them.
