COALINGA - Masonic services for Ernest Fleming, 73, who died Thursday in Arroyo Grande, were held Sunday in the John T Bragg and Sons Funeral Chapel. Entombment was in the Chapel of the Light in Fresno.
Born in Colorado, he lived in Coalinga since 1925. He was the owner and operator of the Coalinga Motel for 28 years.
He was active in the Masonic Lodge, including the Scottish Rite, the Royal Arch Marsons (sic), the York Rite Masons, the Shriners and the Eastern Star. He also was a member of the Elks Club and was a past president and zone chairman for the Lions Club.
Survivors include his widow, Lucille; a daughter Meredity of Porterville; brothers, Jim of Arizona and Bill of Bakersfield; sisters Freda Wait of Redwood City, Betty Elliott of Bakersfield, Irene Fischer of Modesto.
