Jane Martha Arnold was the daughter of Dr Thomas Arnold and Mary Penrose.
She married Rt. Hon. William Edward Forster, MP, son of William Forster, on 15 August 1850 at Rydal, Cumberland.
She and her husband adopted the orphaned children of William Arnold, her brother, who died in 1859.
