Henry J. Coogan. a former resident at the Winchester, died Sept. 26 at the Brooks Sanitarium, 1472 S. State Street. A life resident of Syracuse, he was the son of Timothy and Mary Coogan, and the granduncle of film star Jackie Coogan. Mr. Coogan was formerly employed as a doorman and as a train caller for the New York Central Railroad. He is survived by a sister, Miss Margaret Coogan, and by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a solemn high mass of requiem was celebrated by the Rev. John J. Quigley, with the Rev. Joseph L. Ritchie assisting as deacon, and the Rev. William P. Christian as subdeacon.

Note: the Syracuse Herald American of Oct. 12, 1941, states that his will made various bequests to his nephew, Arthur Coogan of 210 Wayne Street, and to nieces Harriet Bauder of 809 Vine St., Mrs. Agnes Kleeger(?) of 743 Ackerman Ave, and Miss Mary E. Coogan of the same address.
