He was driving home from Lohrville when his team became unmanagable and ran away. Mr. McGee was thrown to the ground and killed almost instantly. The funeral was held Thursday and the burial made in the Cedar township cemetery. Mr. McGee leaves a large family to mourn his untimely and sudden death.” Another newspaper stated this: “Mr. Michael McGee, of Northwest Cedar township, met with a terrible accident on Tuesday night which caused his death. He was returning home from Lohrville when it is supposed that his horse became unmanageable and threw him out and dragged him. He was bruised so that he was almost past recognition.” -The sad thing about all of this, he was visiting his newly married son in the nearby town of Lohrville.
