Reed – Janet R., 87 of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on July 13, 1932 in Johnstown, daughter of John and Carrie (Bender) Roberts. Preceded in death by husband, George W. and sister, Rosealene Altemus. She is survived by her loving children, David A. Reed and wife, Linda, of Wyomissing, PA and Linda L. Anderson and husband, Brian, of Seven Fields, PA; grandchildren, Amanda (Reed) Batts and husband, Michael, Altamonte Springs, FL, Emily Reed, Orlando, FL, Phillip Anderson, Chattanooga, TN, and Kevin Anderson, Seven Fields, PA; great granddaughter, Tallulah Batts, and several nieces and nephews. Janet was a 1951 graduate of Johnstown Central High School, where she pursued the commercial course. She worked as an executive secretary to the VP of Human Resources at Penelec in the 1950’s and as the Secretary at Homestead Avenue United Methodist Church in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Janet enjoyed reading, cooking, her beloved pets, and spending time at Church Class Meetings. She loved her family and her church. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Carol Hickman officiating. Entombment will be at the Richland Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to Homestead Avenue United Methodist Church, 101 Homestead Ave., Johnstown, PA 15902 in memory of Janet Reed.
