Mr. George Matthew Cridge, son of the late Mr John Cridge, died from heart failure, at the Cooma District Hospital on Sunday, after an illness extending over many weeks. Deceased, a bachelor, was nearly 60 years of age, and was a native of the Numeralla district, where he carried on farming. He recently went to Grenfell for change of climate, but the visit did not induce much Improvement in health, The funeral took place in the Church of England portion of the Mittagang cemetery this afternoon.

The late Mr G. M. Cridge (whose death was reported in the last issue of the 'Mercury') was a native of Braidwood, and has resided at Numeralla, where he engaged in pastoral pursuits, for over twenty years.
His surviving brothers are Messrs John Cridge, of Grenfell, Albert and Arthur, of Lismore, Raymond, of Numeralla, and Walter, of West Australia; and sisters, Mesdames J. Worland, Bega; J. Britt, Narrandera; W. Worland, Lismore; G. Burgess, Goulburn; and W. Phinn, Adaminaby.
The funeral took place on Monday last in the Church of England portion of the Numeralla cemetery, the Rev. W. Evans officiating; the pallbearers being Messrs Richard and Stanley Worland, George Higgs, and James Flakelar. Mr J. F. Allen carried out the funeral arrangements.
The deceased had been ailing for about nine years, and succumbed to heart failure at the Cooma District hospital on Sunday last, at the age of 62 years. He was the eldest son of the late Mr John Cridge, and led a quiet and industrious life, being for a time engaged at road and timber work. He leaves a large circle of friends.
