"Wayne" as he was called was the oldest child of Fred C. & Mabel (Morris) Howard; brother of Verner. Wayne's father passed away when Wayne was 14 years old. Wayne, along with his mother, raised Verner who contacted polio at an early age. Wayne graduated from Laverne High School; he was extremely intelligent & early on worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS after his marriage to Mable Ann Wolf.

Following his work at Boeing, Wayne & Mable Ann moved to Englewood, KS when Wayne went to work for his father-in-law C.H. "Pud" Wolf. Wayne was a tireless worker & was always interested in trying new things.

Wayne later married Esther (Miller) Haley; he worked in the insurance & marketing business for many years. Wayne was a perfectionist in all that he did; he enjoyed cars & gadgets. Wayne was survived by Esther, his mother Mable, his brother Vernon whom Wayne always stood by & cared for, & step daughters Carla Mains & Charla Haley.

Wayne was a good man.
