She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Matilda Fogel Mickley. Her mother was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Fogel. Her father was a well known iron maker and for many years was engaged with the Thomas Iron Company at Hokendauqua as mining engineer. Later he conducted a stock farm. During the Civil War he was the first lieutenant in Company B, Thirty-eighth regiment, Pennsylvania militia.
Of the four children born to the couple, Mrs. Mickley, who died today, was the oldest. She was married to Commander Mickley of Philadelphia, who preceded her in death. She was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends at her home and elsewhere. She was a faithful member of Hokendauqua Presbyterian Church and took a lively interest in all the activities of the congregation.
Surviving her are two sisters, Mrs. Henry Martyn Chance, of Philadelphia and Miss Minnie Fogel Mickley, of Mickley's; a brother, John Jacob Mickley, of Allentown; five nephews and three nieces.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon, with services at the home, Rev. H. S. Welty and Rev. Thomas Krick officiating. Burial will be made in the family plot in Mickley's Cemetery.
