A C Arnheim, the son of Adolph and Katherina (Shay) Arnheim was born about 1872 in Chicago, IL. Both parents were of German descent, Adolph born in Mecklenburg, Germany and his mother, Katherina born in Bavaria. Adolph, Katherina, and son Alfred were living in Princeton, Iowa, in 1880, his father a saloon keeper. At age 61 in 1900, Adolph and family were living in Fulton, IL; where Adolph was a day laborer. The last census record found for Adolph is 1910. Adolph, now a widower, and his son Alfred are still living in Fulton, IL.

Alfred C or "A C" as he apparently was commonly called, married Lillian L Monroe, the daughter of river pilot, John Monroe and his wife Carrie nee Crusen. The couple was married 28 Feb 1911 in Lyons, Clinton County, Iowa. (Lyons lying on the northern border of Clinton along the Mississippi River later became a part of the City of Clinton.) Lillian passed away in 1917. The only record found of her passing is the marker in Fulton Township Cemetery.

Alfred married second Stientje "Stella" Smit in Fulton, IL, 1918. Stella, born in Wehe, Netherlands, emigrated with her parents in 1885.

At the time of his second wife's death, Alfred was hospitalized in Mercy Hospital, Clinton, Iowa. Stella died 13 Jan in a Quad-cities hospital; Alfred died 5 days later in Mercy Hospital.

There are no known children of either union.
