PANHANDLE (TX) -- Hugo F. Degenhart, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 1995. Services will be Monday in Panhandle Church of Christ. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Copeland Cemetery at Copeland, Kan. Mr. Degenhart was born in Finney County, Kan.; had been a Panhandle resident for 12 years. He married Sylvia Dudrey in 1929 at Ensign, Kan. She died in 1974. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty, in 19__ (the last 2 numbers are marked out and 33 has been written in). He was a retired farmer and had been a board member of both the Farm Bureau and the Agriculture Soil Conservation Service from 1944 and 1957. He had served on the Colusa, Kan., school board and was a member of the Panhandle Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Howard F. Degenhart of Dalhart; a daughter, Alice Stamps of Panhandle; four sisters, Ester(sic) Nichols of Garden City, Kan., Bertha Weeks of Chelan, Wash., and Hazel Neely and Gladys Brown, both of South Bend, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
