Staff Sergeant Verne Lochner, 1st Platoon, Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 47th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division was killed in an ambush 2 April 1969, Long An Province, South Vietnam. Verne Lochner is memorialized at Panel W27, Line 1, on the Vietnam Wall Memorial in Washington, DC.
