After moving to Duluth, she married Lawrence Rotondi in 1938. Marian worked as a seamstress for J.C. Penney’s in West Duluth. She purchased the West Duluth Ben Franklin Store on Grand Avenue, which later became the V&S Variety Store. Marian was a long-time member of St. James Catholic Church where she was also the parish housekeeper for many years. Marian was active in the West Duluth community including Irving School PTA President, a Girl Scout Leader, President of West Duluth Women’s Club, an auxillary member of American Legion #71, and she worked in the Foster Grandparent Program at Laura MacArthur Elementary School for 22+ years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Faith Jones; husband, Lawrence; siblings Glenn, Kenny, Marge and Sal.
Marian is survived by her daughters: MaryAnn Rotondi and Laura (Tom) Ensign; grandson, Patrick (Jennifer) Bergquist; and great-grandchildren: Brooklyn and Blake Bergquist; her Ensign extended family includes: Chuck (Tonya), Andrea (Eric), Brian (Jolie); six great-grandchildren; siblings: Marlou Adams, Betty Walter and Bob Jones; and many nieces and nephews.
