BIBBS, Mr. Hezekiah S., Sr. "Ki"- Age 85, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2007 at his residence. Family hour 10AM Thursday, August 9, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Eld. John Thornton officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Thursday. Mr. Bibbs now lies in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM today. Mr. Hezekiah S. Bibbs, Sr., was born November 9, 1921 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Arch and Era Bibbs. Hezekiah graduated from Flint Northern High School, "Class of 1941", where he won state championship in hurdles in 1940. Hezekiah served in the United States Army from 1941-1946, where he was in the Anti-Aircraft Aviation Division and also served in the Tuskegee Cadet. He later attended Baker Business College, and co-owned and operated Bibbs and Son's. Hezekiah was employed at GM, with 42 years of service. He was an avid reader, loved to travel and spend time with his family. Hezekiah was a 33rd Degree Mason and the Knights Templar. Mr. Hezekiah S. Bibbs, Sr., leaves to cherish his memory: children, Michele A. Bibbs; Hezekiah S. (Margaret) Bibbs, Jr., and Johnnie B. Dye; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, all of Flint; brother, Arch O. (Dorothy) Bibbs, Jr.; of Flint; sisters-in-law, Ruth Kerr of Chicago, IL, Rosa Mae Lewis of Detroit, MI; and brother-in-law, Willie Johnson of Chicago, IL; a host of other relatives and friends including special nieces, Anita Smylor and Corrine Sturgil. Mr. Bibbs was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Gerogia Bibbs; daughter, Debra Dye Burnett; son, Tommie Dye, Jr.; father, Arch Bibbs, Sr.; mother, Era Bibbs; sister, Imogen Bibbs Young; and 2 brothers, Ulyses and LeRoy Bibbs. The Bibbs family would like to thank the Visiting Physicians and Nursing Staff, Hospice, McLaren Regional EMS and all of the other transport personnel who assisted with the care of our Beloved Father, Uncle and Grandfather.Published in the Flint Journal, Flint, MI, from 8/3/2007 - 8/5/2007.
