Funeral services were held today
at Higgins Funeral Home for Kathleen
Adcox Shelton of Fayetteville, who
died Monday (Sept. 25, 1989) in
Lincoln Regional Hospital following
a long illness. She was 76.
The Rev. Tom Porter officiated.
Burial followed in Unity Cemetery.
A native of Lincoln County, she was
the daughter of the late William
Thomas and Annie Armstrong Adcox,
a housewife and a member of the
Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include five daughters,
Martha Wright, Jean Baily, Sue Darnell,
and Connie Wright, all of Lewisburg,
and Dorothy Mills of Shelbyville;
four sons, Robert Lee Shelton of
Fallbrook, Ca., Ray Shelton of Lewisburg,
James Shelton of Shelbyville and
Lonnie Shelton of Petersburg; two
sisters, Mae Arnold of Fayetteville
and Mildred Wiser of Indiana; a
brother, Charles Adcox of Fayetteville;
21 grandchildren and 19 great-
grandchildren.
