Medical Treatise Editor Died in Jamaica Hospital
Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Elizabeth (Kitty) Brewer Broach, 47, native and resident of McComb for many years who died Thursday [Jan. 5, 1961] in Kingston, Jamaica, will be held in McComb at a time not yet definitely set.
Mrs. Broach, daughter of Mrs. I. C. Brewer of McComb succumbed unexpectedly to a cerebral hemorrhage suffered on the Carribean island where she had been living recently.
She was an assistant and editor for Dr. Paul Williamson, writer of medical treatises and books.
Mrs. Broach was an active member of the McComb Junior Auxiliary and numerous other civic and social groups before she left McComb several years ago. Her husband, Marvin Broach, teacher for many years and later a CPA of the city, preceded her in death by many years.
The body was scheduled to be flown from Jamaica to new Orleans today, then brought to McComb for services and burial.
Mrs. Broach was a member of First Baptist Church.
She leaves her daughter, Mrs. Katie Lou Orban, Bloomington, Indiana; her mother, Mrs. Brewer of McComb; two brothers, Davis Lane Brewer, Norfolk, Virginia, and James Brewer of Little Rock, Arkansas and a half sister, Mrs. H. L. Holcomb, Picayune.
Burial will be in Hollywood cemetery with Hartman Funeral Home in charge of services.
