EDITH "EDIE" MAE POLING, 85, of Huntington, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at The Woodlands Retirement Community. She was born on March 17, 1930 in Wadestown, W.Va., a daughter of the late Otto and Hazel (Hawkins) Taylor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James L. Poling to whom she was a devoted wife and loving mother of three daughters, Mary Ann (Merlyn) Diddle of Huntington, Linda Mae (Charles "C.L.") Wilkerson of Beckley, and Rebecca Sue "Becky" (Tim) Cyrus of Ona; grandchildren Jason (Shannon) Wilkerson, Lauren (Nick) Werthammer and Katie (fiancé Morgan) Blankenship; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. Before moving to The Woodlands, Edith's life was enriched by the companionship of her 2nd husband, Wayne Smith of Akron, Ohio. Mrs. Poling was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church and was formerly very active at Otterbein United Methodist Church. Her heart and home were always open to those in need. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to the healthcare staff of The Woodlands for their genuine love and care. Burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington.
