Mary Pat was born February 1, 1929 in Esmond, ND to Rochus and Helen (Becker) Leier. Patty attended Rich Valley Grade School and graduated from Esmond High School in May 1946.
On December 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Nicholas J. Erck. When her husband started his Well Drilling business in Minot, ND, Patty was the bookkeeper for twenty-three years. Patty loved to read, play cards, especially pinochle and she loved to travel. She and her husband traveled to many states. They spent several winters in Arizona. She and her husband moved to Bismarck ND in 2005. After her husband passed away, she spent several winters with her daughter Joyce and family in Mountain Pine, Arkansas.
Patty is survived by two daughters, Janet (Serenus) and Joyce (Mickey); one son, Darryl; six grandchildren, Brent (Peggy), Michelle (Jody), Erica (Anthony), Clint (Tory), Brock and Kristen; seventeen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; brothers, James, Curtis (Bev) and Terry; sisters, Dorothy, Eunice (Louis), Karen and Nancy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick; parents, Rochus and Helen; brothers, Rochus Jr., Donald and Dennis; brothers-in-law, Reuben Brown and Robert Sage; sisters-in-law, Karen (Donald) Leier, Lovey (James) Leier and Sylvia (Dennis) Leier; and nephew, Craig Weber.
