Note: His death rec states he was b. Roxbury. His father actually d. 5 Tremont St, Cambridge, but his death rec is with Boston. Parts of Cambridge, Dorchester, Brookline, and Newton had to report to Boston; but he did actually die in Cambridge. John Hooper was a merchant, and I cannot find him on a 1820 census at Marblehead, but he was either still there, or back by 1850. James S B Hooper was at Charlestown; I don't know where Roxbury came in, but there is a stronger poss he was b. Marblehead or Cambridge.
