John J. Kennedy, brother of Representative Kennedy, died last night at the Marine Hospital of pneumonia. He had entered the hospital Tuesday to prepare for an operation. He was 49. Mr. Kennedy was a city employee, having for a number of years been the telephone operator at the Gay street yards.
Funeral services will be held at his home, 908 East Biddle, street at 9.30 A. M., Wednesday, and will be followed by a requiem mass at St. John's Church half an hour later. Burial will be in the New Cathedral Cemetery. Mr. Kennedy is survived by his father, Ambrose J. Kennedy, and two other brothers, William P. and Daniel D. Kennedy, and a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Amlong.
