Mr. Coney was born September 3, 1897, in Walthall County. He had resided in Fernwood for the past twenty-four years where he was night-watchman for the Fernwood Industries, and a member of Fernwood Baptist Church. He had been ill for quite a while.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Yvonne Dixon of McComb; four sons, Alton Coney of Summit, Charles Coney, Billy Joe Coney, and Robert Lee Coney of Fernwood; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Etta Pigott of New Orleans, Mrs. Eva Dunaway of Crystal Springs, Mrs. Rhoda Dunaway of Enon; two brothers, Charlie Coney of Ruth, and Frank Coney of Loris, South Carolina.
Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. W. W. Tipton officiating, assisted by Rev. George Skelton. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers. Hartman Funeral Home is in charge.
