Although being born in California, she moved with her family to Haskell at a young age and this is where she attended school. After her school years she moved away, but eventually returned to Haskell to retire. She was a beautician for many years living and working in both Oklahoma and Texas. She may very well have been the most adventuresome of her sisters and you could never call her "Edna".
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Christine Lindsey of Maui, Hawaii.
Three sisters: Doris Roberts of Haskell, Virginia Daniels of Haskell, and Melba Jean Horton Mower of Jacksboro, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Grubbs, loving grandson Gary "Mark" Mires, Haskell, TX, and brother Vernon Banks.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 26, 2003 at Willow Cemetery with Reverend Luella, Doctor Ihsan Ardhuwrumly and Aaron Carpenter officiating. Services were under the direction of Holden-McCauley Funeral Home of Haskell.
Honorary pallbearers were her nephews: Bobby Roberts, Albert Roberts, Jackie Daniels, Mike Voyles, Max McMeans, and James King.
