Funeral services for Mary Ann Albrecht, age 85, of Magnet, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa, Nebraska. Reverend Judy Carlson will officiate, with burial at a later date.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.

Mary Ann died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Mary Ann Georgia (Anderson) Albrecht, daughter of Francis and Mildred Anderson, was born November 15, 1930, at home near Bungville, Nebraska. Mary Ann was baptized at Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington, Nebraska. She grew up living on a farm north of Wausa, living with relatives after her mother's death and with her Dad at Pleasant Valley. Mary Ann received her high school diploma from Liberty High School near Pleasant Valley. On June 11, 1949, she married Dale Albrecht at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington. They had eleven children: Daniel, Randy, Gayle, Patricia, Robert, Cindy, Tim, Scot, Chris, Vern, and Ruth.

Mary Ann and Dale farmed on farms north of Randolph, north of Wausa, and east of Wausa until 1956. They lived in and around Wausa from 1956 to 1959, and then moved to a small farm place in Magnet in 1959. Mary Ann was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved and was very proud of her family. Mary Ann enjoyed attending her grandchildren's school activities, sports, and birthday parties. She loved her home in Magnet and enjoyed working outdoors mowing, trimming, planting flowers, and gardening. She enjoyed canning, photography, scrapbooks, journaling, collecting, playing cards, games, and crossword puzzles. Mary Ann loved decorating and hosting holiday dinners in her home for her family. She was an active and longtime member of United Methodist Church.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Daniel (Genny), Randy (Jeanne), Gayle, Pat (DuWayne) Braunesreither, Cindy (Mike) Walden, Tim (Denise), Scot (Lori), Chris (Miriam), Vern (Robin), and Ruth (John) Bloomquist; 26 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia (Bob) Vise and Betty (Gerry) Schumacher; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Albrecht and Dean (Mary Rae) Albrecht.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Vern Anderson; sister, Gloria Anderson; sister-in-law, Elaine Meier; son, Robert Albrecht; and grandson, Richard Braunesreither.
