~ Reverend Ray Collins was husband to Susan Ella Hall Collins and father of 11 children. He was a fiery, pentecostal preacher and a long-time pastor and evangelist in the Church of God in North Carolina. Through him, God's Word was always delivered without compromise. He visited Israel and even preached in a boat on the Sea of Galilee. In reference to Salvation in Christ, he always said, "You had to get up pretty early in the morning, to be meaner than I was, before God saved me. But, He forgave me of all I had done, and made me His own". At the time of his passing, he was only one of three bishops in the entire Church of God organization, throughout the world! He served as district overseer and was on the state council in North Carolina. He also had a radio ministry for 36 years. He never asked for donations to be sent in while preaching on the radio, he always said, "God will provide the means to stay on-the-air", and he left the influencing up to Him. He had 47 grandchildren, 72 great granchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He loved serving God as His mouthpiece! His trademark attire at the annual C o G Campmeeting in Charlotte, was a white suit with white shoes to go along with his white hair. His family laid him to rest wearing a white tuxedo! ~
