Accoring to 1812 War pension records filed June 1871 David Brooks enlisted in the VA militia Wellsburg Brook, Virginia 1814 as a substitute for his brother George Brooks. David was honorably discharged at Hamsburg, Pennsylvania near the end of the war.

David was in the War of 1812, Capt. Abe Malone’s company of the Virginia Militia, he volunteered as a substitute for his brother George.

According to pension records war 1812 David Brooks and Stacie Ann Dunfee were married 1840 in Pennsylvania.
